PAIA Requests

PAIA gives people a process to request access to records. For a private body, the request should identify the right the requester wishes to exercise or protect and explain why the requested record is required for that right.

  • Use the prescribed PAIA request form where applicable.
  • Describe the record requested with enough detail for us to locate it.
  • Provide contact details and proof of identity or authority to act for another person.
  • Pay any lawful request, search, reproduction, or access fees if applicable.

Records That May Be Available

Subject to applicable law and grounds for refusal, records may include:

  • company, tax, finance, accounting, and statutory records;
  • customer, supplier, reseller, order, quote, invoice, and support records;
  • website, security, payment, manufacturing, and fulfilment records;
  • employment, contractor, and operational records;
  • policies, manuals, and records made automatically available on the website.

Complaints

If a POPIA or PAIA request is not resolved, you may contact the Information Regulator of South Africa. The Information Regulator publishes PAIA guides, forms, and complaint processes on its website.
